Some people are simply a pleasure to be around.
Al and Kelly are that kind of people. We exchanged emails yesterday and I invited them to come over to our campsite this morning. They drive up with a toot of the horn followed by hugs all around. Pheebs, Bridget, and Spike share a group-kiss.
What started as a cool morning is sunny and warm at 11 o’clock. The six of us settle in camp chairs or on the outdoor rug.
The conversation flows so smoothly that I’m unaware of the passage of time until I notice the shade has crept across the rug!
Al is always a photographer.
Honestly, I dread going over to Travel with the Bayfield Bunch to see the photos.
No filters, no touch-ups, just harsh sunlight . . . oh dear.
Al and I hand over our cameras to Kelly so she can take a picture of us together.
What’s with that hair? Desert Woman Does Woodstock? What is this — 1968? You can’t blame THAT on harsh lighting. Get a haircut, RVSue!
Before they leave, Al and Kelly invite us over to their place. “We’ll be leaving in about two-and-a-half weeks,” Al reminds me.
Pheebs beams a sparkling smile as if to say, “Yeah! Come on over to our place! You’ll love it!”

“Thanks for coming over,” I tell them as we’re saying goodbye. “I enjoyed our visit.”
And with a “Same here!” and a toot of the horn, off they go!
