Are those geese I hear honking?
This entry is for Tuesday, September 13th. It’s one in a series of entries posted late due to no internet connection on my Verizon wireless card.
I get out of bed and look through the screen door. Yes, geese! Mist is rising from the lake. I sneak outside. The sun is about to appear behind the mountain peaks to the east, and a full moon is poised above the peaks to the west. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before!
I fry up a pair of eggs in my cast iron skillet.
I decide today is a good day to go to Angel Fire and get some things done, instead of running off to another campground. First we go to the laundromat. Unfortunately it’s the only one in town which means the dryers are set so they don’t get very hot. Also for a quarter you get eight minutes, with the last two minutes for “cool down.” I don’t want cool down, I want my laundry dry and hot! After adding several quarters, my patience runs out and we leave with a basket of damp laundry. Oh well.
Next I go to the library for internet.
I find out that I have another document that I have to print and fax in order for the registration to be completed on the Casita. I try to find out what my next payment on my credit card should be, but in order to establish online account information, you need to receive a phone call. Which I can’t do. Oh, rats.
I can hear the crew wailing!
They sure do know how to wail. Their wailing goes through the PTV and through two entry doors of the library. After making blog entries and writing emails, I hurry out to the PTV. The crew is not happy. Bridget looks like she’s about to faint, and Spike starts chastising me with angry barks. Okay, guys. Enough already!
Because this is a tourist town, the supermarket is in disguise.
The exterior looks like a hunting lodge. I never would have found it if I hadn’t asked the librarian. It’s undergoing extensive remodeling and is a total mess. However, I’m able to find the most important items, so I’m happy.
Shall I leave tomorrow?
It’s supposed to be really cold and rainy. I can’t decide. I’ll let tomorrow give me the answer.
