Slideshow: Canyon and campground scenes

The crew and I hike into the south end of Sawtooth Canyon this morning.

Hiking trails go off in all directions from Sawtooth Canyon Campground, south of Barstow.  They vary from easy walks to difficult climbs.  Bridget, Spike, and I choose an easy-to-moderate trail.  Bridget is almost back to her strength and stamina before she tore the ligament in her left, back leg.  She and Spike enjoy the adventure.  At the sound of the camera case being unzipped, they know the hike pauses until I zip it back up again!

On the way back we rest in the shade of the boulders overlooking some of the campsites.

I share these photos especially for those of you who want to camp here someday.  This weather in southern California in early November is wonderful!
