What is the BLT?
BLT is what I consider the Best Little Trailer, a 2011 17-foot Casita Liberty Deluxe that is the full-time home for me and my canine crew, Bridget and Spike.
What is the PTV?
PTV stands for the Perfect Tow Vehicle that takes us places. It's a 2005 Chevy Express van with a V-8, 5.3 liter engine and equipped with a 200-watt solar panel mounted on the roof.-

Something’s wrong with Spike!
This morning he sits up in bed and looks around. He doesn’t do his wake-up stretch. He doesn’t pester Bridget to get up. He doesn’t lie on his back and squiggle to scratch his back. He doesn’t wag his tail. … Continue reading
The sound of music
On a lark I try my television. Last time I tried there was no reception. I press the button on the 12v outlet that activates the antenna, plug in my 400 watt inverter, plug the television into the inverter, and … Continue reading

The aliens are coming! The aliens are coming!
Another fine day comes to a close. The crew is already conked out on the bed with me. Spike’s at my feet and Bridget’s in my armpit. That’s enough reading for tonight. I pull up the window blind about eight inches so … Continue reading

Hiking the Sonoran with canine guides
Never did I anticipate that Spike and Bridget would adapt so well to living in the desert. We hike way down the dirt road, up a rocky embankment, across a wash, up another rocky slope, until we reach a ridge … Continue reading

Return to Darby Wells
It’s good to be back. I don’t know what it is that draws me to this particular spot in the desert. It may sound silly, but I feel affection for this place. I leave Bridget and Spike in the PTV … Continue reading

People and dogs at Big Q and Painted Rock
If a person is going to camp with other people, these people I met at Quartzsite are the kind to camp with. Ann and Bill came to Dome Rock from Oregon. Bill is one of those guys who can … Continue reading

I buy stuff at Quartzsite
I’m ready to do some serious shopping. Chuck and Geri are with me. Right as we enter the vendor area from the parking lot, I spy some nice-looking folding chairs with attached tables, exactly the kind I have in mind. … Continue reading

Rubbertramp readers and a fried Twinkie
The Dome Rock area is dotted with motorhomes, fifth wheels, vans, and fiberglass trailers. It’s late afternoon and the crew needs to walk off their energy. We proceed up the lane toward Dome Rock. Several people are camped up this … Continue reading

Dome Rock campsite
The crew and I are enjoying ourselves here at Dome Rock, Quartzsite, Arizona! People who own fiberglass egg campers are an easygoing lot. Yesterday we roasted hot dogs over the communal campfire. I still haven’t gone shopping yet. We’re having … Continue reading

Quartzsite, Arizona!
It’s time to get moving again! Chuck and Geri rolled into Yuma yesterday afternoon and parked their fifth wheel next to our Casita. It was good to see them again! Bridget and Spike remembered their friends from Thanksgiving Day . . … Continue reading
